The year

A season with three nights to play

Every student chooses whether to play. Families, grandparents and friends are always welcome to listen.

The season
  • Fall session begins

Early September · Weekly lessons and ensembles start for returning and new students.

  • Fall performance

November · The first night in the hall: sections, soloists and the beginners' ensemble, for their families.

  • Winter break

Late December · The academy is closed for two weeks, then lessons start again.

  • Spring session begins

Early January · A new session, and a good month to start a trial class.

  • Serenata for the mothers

May · The ensemble sings and plays for the mothers of the academy, with the whole hall invited to join in.

  • End-of-year performance

June · All three levels play, from the first son to the senior ensemble's full program.

The night

What a performance night is like

A short evening in the hall, with chairs set out and the lights low.

  • Every student chooses

Some play alone, some play with their section and some come only to listen. Everyone claps for everyone.

  • Families sit together

Grandparents, cousins and friends are welcome. Arrive early, silence phones and clap at the end of each piece.

  • Spanish and English

We welcome the audience in both languages, and the singers introduce each song in the language they prefer.
